Located on the corner of Hoang Du Khuong, District 10, the Museum of Vietnamese Traditional Medicine (FiTo) is the first private Traditional Medical Museum in Vietnam.
FiTo was established by ideas, passion and collecting in several years of Mr. Le Khac Tam whose desire to conserve precious assets and enhance the Vietnamese traditional medicine. Moreover, he wants to introduce it to people who are interested in history of traditional medicine.
FiTo was built in 2003 and was used in 2007 with six floors and 18 rooms, the total square iis 600m2. In addition, the FiTo was designed by wood and sophisticated patterns and the owner used ancient wooden window frames which bought from Northern plains makes space ancient and cozy.
FiTo museum has over 3000 items relevant to traditional Vietnamese medicine dating back to the Stone Age to now, such as: medicinal root slicers, 2500 year-old medicine-pounding pestle and other medicinal root slicers which are from Buddish priest Tue Tinh’s countryside and the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong – Le Huu Trac.
Moreover, Fito also has enormous Chinese character collection of books with over 10.000 pages, such as: Nam duoc than hieu, Y tong tam linh – Dr. Hai Thuong Lan Ong ( 28 chapters, 66 books) which is known as Vietnamese traditional medicine encyclopedia.
Visiting the FiTo, tourists contemplate the great work – Vietnam bach gia y – which are engraved by wood and wrote a hundreds of famous physicians from 12th century to 20th century. The most original object is nacre picture which describes the traditional medical life of Vietnamese in Thuoc Bac town, Ben Thanh market, Hue imperial city…
After visiting, tourists can have a chance to prepare medicine by cut, pound, taste a medicine and treat and sell medicine here.

The FITO museum is open daily from 8:30AM till 5:30PM.
